This project involved the staged demolition and rebuilding of staff facilities, the creation of a new sterile working area, and the full reconfiguration of the Hospital Boiler Room and associated services. The project had a very tight timeframe with staged handover dates and works programmed to occur over the Xmas period. Existing staff facilities and store rooms were first demolished to make way for the new layout. Concrete floors were cut to allow new drainage to be run and accessible showers, new staff lockers, benches and storage areas were installed as well as a separate staff kitchen. We then commenced the Boiler Room alterations which involved enlarging the space and enclosing it with a new fire rated structural wall. This was a high risk project involving the change over of critical services and meant that a close working relationship with the hospital was required at all times, as well as working with the theatre staff and their busy operating schedules. Canam successfully meet all the handover dates and the client was extremely happy with the end result. |
