Metropolis

This was a base build fit-out for six tenancies. Work comprised of aluminium and glass shop-fronts, gib partitions, strapping and lining, suspended ceilings and electrical services. All work had to be of a high standard in keeping with the image of the Metropolis.
The paths of the shop fronts had to set out and cast in concrete to take the marble and granite tiles. Much time was spent on the set out to ensure that once the aluminium shop fronts were in position, the tiles would marry in to it perfectly. This required a fair amount of team work and consultation between the various subcontractors involved. These meetings were headed up by Canam to ensure that the correct information was passed on and recorded.
Prioritising the shops to the various opening dates was essential as well as ensuring the various tenants contractors were able to gain access to site.
