HSBC Bank is situated at the busiest intersection in Auckland, the corner of Queen and Wellesley Streets. With the traffic problems and no off-street parking all deliveries had to be scheduled before 7am. The two floor fitout of the bank, the new parapets and canopy were completed on time for the bank’s scheduled opening. A logistical highlight of the project involved the construction of a new feature staircase linking the basement and ground floors. Canam were required to cut into the existing slab, prop the building and structurally strengthen elements of the building. Canam met the challenges head-on and successfully overcame them, completing the project on time and within budget. HSBC corner is certainly brighter and more modern looking and Canam Interiors are proud to have been involved in this prestigious project.
