Ascot Hospital Ward Extension

This project involved building an extension to the existing Ascot Hospital in Greenlane. The existing hospital was hoarded off and securely sealed to minimise noise and dust. Excavation was needed for the sloping site, followed by rock anchor piles and a mixture of precast and insitu concrete flooring. Precast wall panels were then erected with a steel and timber roof.
A new retaining wall was constructed alongside the extension which also significantly increased the scope of works. This resulted in variations on the project exceeding $500,000 which also meant the project was accelerated in order to achieve our completion date.
All of the works were carried out adjacent to the hospital which remained fully operational throughout the works. Careful consideration was given when the new extension was linked with the existing, and a close working relationship was maintained with the hospital at all times.
This project was completed earlier than our contractual completion date and the client was very happy with the end result.
