This Canam design and build facility won the Property Council Tourism and Leisure Property Award 1999. Canam delivered a unique recreational and entertainment centre that exceeded the customers expectation. The project consisted of an eight lane competition pool, a leisure pool, kiddies pools, lazy river, swirl pools, sauna, changing rooms, showers, associated amenities, a shop and a café. The complex incorporates a wave machine, specialist water filtration that includes diatomaceous earth filters together with an ozone treatment system. A co-generation plant has been designed to provide for the energy requirements of the site. A state of the art moveable floor has been included in the competition pool. This can be utilised for learn to swim, aerobics, paraplegic access and numerous other activities. The chairman of the Trust, Mr Paul Harrop said “… all the trustees are in agreement that we have received a greater and more exciting complex than we ever dreamed of…” |
