This 18 level development includes 119 apartments, 8 levels of carparking and ground floor retail tenancies. A “top down” methodology was adopted enabling the construction of the structure upwards at the same time as the basement down to 9m below street level. The building had restricted floor to ceiling heights and included signficant insitu cantilevers for part of the floor plate, providing challenges for the coordination of building services. The building is cladded in precast concrete panels, insitu concrete, composite aluminium, glass, hebel block, cementeteous board and granite stonework. The Architect, David Foster, said “it is credit to Canam, not only for the way you went about the intricate task of top down building solution, the on site management, the inclusive manner of your approach to the consultant and client team, but also the view of upholding the Architect’s concept even when changes had to be made for financial reasons. The project was completed successfully and to a high level of workmanship with defects signed off at practical completion. |
