Henderson Train Station

Henderson Train Station is a major station on the western line of Auckland railway network. It is linked to the main Waitakere Civic Centre Building by the Central Link Bridge and is constructed out of precast concrete and structural steel elements.
The Link Bridge structure is spanning over the double tracking lines and makes allowances for future possible electrification. It is supported on reinforced concrete piers and the main deck is hollow core concrete units.
The station is accessible via two passenger lifts and two escalators on each end. The envelope is cladded in frameless glass panels.
The construction of Henderson Train Station was carried out over a “live” and operational double track railway system. Canam was responsible for the management of the transport interchange (taxis, pedestrians and cycles). The project was completed with no incidents, within budget and ahead of time schedule.
